Simple ops software in San Diego.

The internal software your business actually runs on — bookings, invoicing, a dashboard the owner reads on Monday morning. Single-tenant. Yours to keep. No monthly platform fee.

01 — Why this, here

San Diego runs on owner-led shops that have outgrown their spreadsheet.

The county has 1.4 million people and a long tail of small operators behind every well-known industry. Biotech support shops in Sorrento Valley. Defense subcontractors in Kearny Mesa. Tourism operators booking out of Little Italy. Craft breweries running taprooms in North Park. Wireless tech consultancies in Mission Valley. None of these need a multi-tenant platform. They need the one piece of software that runs their week.

What we see, again and again: a Google Sheet that started as a quick fix three years ago. Now it has six tabs, two macros nobody dares touch, and a Calendly bolted to the side. The owner spends Sunday night copying numbers into QuickBooks. Something is going to break, and it usually breaks the week of a big delivery.

The fix is not a $35,000 SaaS contract. The fix is a small, single-tenant app that does the three to five things this specific business needs — and then gets out of the way.

02 — What we build

The minimum software that runs the business.

  • Single-tenant Next.js + Postgres build — no SaaS subscription forever.
  • The three to five features that actually move the needle, nothing more.
  • Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Clerk for auth — boring infrastructure that works.
  • Full source handoff. You own the repo. No vendor lock-in.
  • Handoff documentation a non-technical operator can read on a Saturday.
  • Hosted on Vercel + Neon — you control the accounts, we set them up.

From $14,000 · 4 to 10 weeks · Owner-operated.

03 — What this looks like

Three real shapes this takes in San Diego.

A craft brewery with two North Park taprooms. They run private events on weekends — birthdays, corporate happy hours, beer releases. The booking flow lives across an email inbox, a paper calendar at each location, and a deposit spreadsheet. We build a single internal app: event request form on the public site, owner-side calendar with location and staff conflict detection, deposit invoicing through Stripe, and an automatic confirmation email. The Sunday-night reconciliation goes away.

A Sorrento Valley biotech support shop. They calibrate lab instruments under recurring service contracts for half the cell-therapy companies in the county. The work is invoiced quarterly, the technician routes are planned manually, and contract renewals slip because nobody owns the calendar. We build a contract dashboard with renewal dates, a route planner that pulls from the technician's accepted jobs, and a Stripe-backed invoicing module that drafts quarterly invoices from logged hours. The owner sees the next 90 days at a glance.

A tourism operator running harbor tours out of Little Italy. Walk-ups, online bookings, and a fleet of three boats. The current system is Square plus a paper manifest. We build a manifest app for the dock crew, an online booking page tied to live capacity per departure, and a daily cash-vs-card reconciliation report. The captain checks one screen at end of day. Done.

04 — Honest scope

This engagement is right if you are an owner running a real business in San Diego, you know exactly which three to five workflows are eating your week, and you want software you own instead of software you rent. It is not right if you want a multi-tenant SaaS product to sell to other businesses — that is a different, much bigger build, and we refer it out.

Studio HQ — in-person available across the county. We meet at your shop, your taproom, your dock, your office. Walking the floor for an hour beats a six-page requirements doc, every time.

This page was drafted from a structured brief and hand-reviewed before launch. The work itself is custom, owner-operated, never templated.
