The series

Nocturne, after hours.

Fourteen frames made between midnight and the first grey — a city holding its breath.

Nocturne began as a refusal to use a flash. For a year Odile shot only what the night already gave her: a shuttered market lit by one sodium lamp, the hull of a fishing boat, a stairwell nobody was climbing. The rule was simple — if the light wasn't already there, the picture didn't get made.

What the series is really about is patience. A generated image can invent a mood in a second; it can't wait forty minutes for a cloud to move off the moon. The story under each frame — where it was, what it cost to stand there — is the part no machine can fake, and it's the part editors actually buy.

Shown here as the case-study template a real series drops into: a title treatment, a short story, a paced sequence — not a folder dump.
